Burlington
County Declared a Federal Disaster Zone
On Friday, President George W. Bush declared Burlington County a federal
disaster zone, paving the way for federal aid to flow to the flood-ravaged
area, Rep. Jim Saxton said.
"I am grateful President Bush acted so quickly to declare Burlington County
a disaster area," Saxton said in a statement released Friday night. "FEMA
and I toured the areas together and witnessed the aftermath together:
dams and bridges destroyed, homes and businesses heavily damaged, farms
and businesses and even a firehouse devastated."
