Emergency Medical Squad

The squad was originally formed in 1927 and worked with Union Fire Company. It then incorporated in 1979 as Medford Emergency Squad. They became known as Medford Lakes Emergency Squad in 1991.

The Medford Lakes Emergency Squad is an all volunteer non-profit organization of 18 active members, 12 EMTS and 6 Non EMTS who help with Non Emergency Squad business. We also have a number of associate members who help us, but belong to another neighboring squad or Fire Company. We are here primarily for Medford Lakes residents although we also participate in the mutual aid system of helping neighboring towns. Our Primary source of revenue is the fund drive and fund raisers. We purchase our own ambulances. (2) We have one boat and one crash trailer.

In 1997 we responded to a little over 250 calls and did an additional 1000 hours of training and community stand by activities.
