The Borough is currently performing the 10 year tree cut back which addresses growth from trees that extend into the trails and at trail corners. This work is done every 10 years to eliminate overhang that can get in the way of Borough equipment, and to improve visibility when turning onto various trails. This cut back typically goes up to 30 feet high and back to the Borough Right of Way. This schedule is kept to insure trees are trimmed correctly (some mid-branch and other to the trunk) to provide enough room for growth, and hence only needs to be done every 10 years. The practice of "sealing" trees after cuts has been discontinued based on the information from Rutgers University. Should you have any questions, please contact the Borough Office.
