Trash Collected by Zone

Trash is collected by Zone within the Borough. Our crews are on the road as early as 6:00 a.m. Containers should be placed at the street the night before with the wheels toward the house, arrows pointing toward the street and a 4 foot clearance around the container.

• Collection Day for Zone 1 is Tuesday

Large Trash Curbside ( ***Residents MUST call DPW at 609-654-9383 NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM Friday before the collection to schedule collection for their large trash.***)

Large trash curbside - 1st Monday of the month beginning in March and ending in November. (Please refer to the Large Trash Curbside Schedule link above)

Saturday Drop Off - Saturday's 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Residents are required to present identification to prove residence within the Borough. NJ Driver’s License is preferred. You are limited to 1 residential drop-off per household, per identification each Saturday.  Please note: UHAUL, Box Trucks, Moving Vans, and the like are not permitted. One pickup truck load or similar sized trailer load is all that can be accepted per resident per date.

What is Collected

Large Trash includes: beds, furniture, plastic toys, mowers, small machinery, bicycles, etc. All wood products must be no longer than 4 feet in length. 

**No concrete, asphalt, bricks or stones, construction debris, carpet and no electronic equipment.  No pressure treated wood is accepted.**

No Treated Lumber

The Borough does not pick up or accept treated lumber.  Homeowners must take this to the Burlington Resource Recovery Facility in Florence.

Mattress, Box Spring, and Tire Policy

The Florence Landfill has implemented a new charge for mattress, box spring, and tire waste. The landfill now charges $13.50 for each mattress and/or box spring that is delivered to the landfill. Car tires (no rims) are $4.50 each, car tires (with rims) $5.50 each, truck tires (no rims) $9.00 each, and truck tires (with rims) $10.00 each.

Payment, made in the Borough Office, is required for Saturday drop off or have any of the items listed above collected during bulk trash collection. Payments are non-refundable. 

For Bulk Trash Collection: Residents MUST call DPW at 609-654-9383 the week prior to pick up to schedule collection for their large trash. Please indicate you have a mattress/box-spring/tire(s) with or without rims. You can pay at the Borough Office (cash or check only) during normal business hours 8:30-4:30 M-F, or leave a check in the green drop box after hours.

For Saturday Dropoff: Please make payment at the Borough Office (cash or check only) during normal business hours 8:30-4:30 M-F.  You MUST present the yellow receipt for your mattress, box spring, or tires to be accepted.
